You’ve found one of our signs or QR codes; excellent! In order to be best informed about the landowner’s information available, we strongly encourage that you contact the landowner to have a conversation about current events and safety. Remember that harassing wildlife is reportable to relevant Game and Wildlife commissions, and can result in penalties ranging from fines to felonies. As much as your desire is to take a stroll, today may not be the safe day to do so; please contact the landowner.
Here’s a list of questions you should be asking:
- What species of rattlesnakes are known to be on this property?
- When was the last known sighting?
- Where was the last known sighting?
- Any other concerns as it relates to safety and health?
Here’s a list of things that would be helpful:
- Keep a “Stop the Bleed” first aid kit on your person. These have tourniquets useful for stopping venom from spreading.
- Look for the QR codes on the participants property; scan and provide feedback to help the landowner know of any potential sightings.
- Letting the landowner know you have left.
